We are delighted to announce the success of a 4 day choreographic intensive residency with Siobhan Davies Dance Company and our Magpie Dancers (which happened earlier this month). Siobhan Davies Dance Company worked with our Adult Performance Group and some of our Youth Group as part of Magpie's mentoring programme. This fantastic residency gave our dancers different experience and methods of working and devising choreography for them to feed into their individual mentoring projects.

Professional Development/ Recruitment Day

Saturday 31st May

Bromley, Kent

(just 15 mins from London Victoria)

Due to the expansion and increased demand of work, Magpie is looking to increase our pool of freelance Magpie Dance facilitators. We will be holding a Professional Development / Recruitment day on the 31st May in Bromley (15 mins from London Victoria) which will include workshops and further information about Magpie Dance; a fantastic opportunity to learn about Magpie and its ethos and a chance to meet with Magpie's facilitators and some of our dancers with learning disabilities – there will also be the opportunity to take part in a practical session.

An application form for people to apply to take part in the day is available, please click here to download one (click HERE).  Please note the deadline for applications is Monday 12th May.

Magpie Dance performed Pathways as part of a Triple Bill performance at Hextable Dance In Swanley entitled ‘Made in Kent' along with two other dynamic dance companies; B Group and Loop Dance Company on the 28th February. It was a huge sell-out success whcih will lead onto further collaborations this year.

Pathways is choreographed by Karen Grandison and Linda McCarthy as part of Magpie’s ground breaking mentoring scheme to support choreographers with learning disabilities.

Richard Wilson OBE; Patron of Magpie Dance - "Magpie Dance is a company that I am very proud to be patron of. I've been following their work for several years now and it seems to get better and better. All the participants in the company clearly get a great deal out of their performance work and I wish them all good luck for their performances"

Annie Wells, londondance.com, on previous Magpie Dance work. “Boundary breaking and perception changing work. Elevating, enlightening, inspiring, it was over too soon and should definitely be seen by more.”
