Magpie Dance’s Summer School took place at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley from Monday 24th July to Thursday 27th July 2017. These workshops were inspired by the glitz and showmanship of Strictly Come Dancing. Both Magpie’s Youth Group juniors and seniors learnt a number of impressive Ballroom and Latin styles over the four days including Tango, Paso Doble, Jive and the roaring twenties Charleston.
On the final day of Summer School, all dancers performed a series of dazzling routines in front of family, friends and Magpie staff. In true Strictly fashion, we invited four judges including Magpie’s current Artistic and Executive Director Avril Hitman, Magpie’s new Chief Executive Thalie Martini and two of the Churchill Theatre’s Marketing team to score the participants performances. All dancers shimmed their way to score triumphant 10’s!!
The sharing was hosted by Magpie’s very own dynamic duo Operations Coordinator Jessica Richards and new Communications Manager Mark Slaughter.
Magpie would like to thank all dancers who attended this year’s Summer School and strutted their fab-u-lous new ballroom moves with power and style!
Magpie Dance’s autumn term classes will begin the week of the 18th September. Click here for more information on how to join in the fun.
But remember between now and then…Keeeeeep Dancin!
