6 month freelance contract

Magpie Dance’s mission is ‘to unlock individual potential and ability through dance, to be at the forefront of dance for people with learning disabilities’.

Magpie Dance is a leading charity that has carved out a national reputation for its inspiring approach to creative, contemporary dance. Founded 32 years ago by the current Artistic and Executive Director Avril Hitman BEM, the organisation benefits over 3,000 people with learning disabilities, their families and care networks, and mainstream audiences each year.  This is an exciting time to join the Magpie team, as the company continues to grow following a three year grant from the Big Lottery’s Reaching Communities programme.

Magpie Dance are looking for an exceptional Marketing & Communications Consultant who will provide strategic and practical advice to boost Magpie’s marketing efforts and carry forward Magpie’s identity and brand. The successful candidate will organise, manage and implement Magpie’s activities and marketing strategy, as well as planning ahead for once the contract has finished.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and knowledgeable in everyday marketing activities. They will be an excellent communicator, ready to make a difference and able to work alone and manage their own time. Knowledge of the dance and inclusive sector is desirable.

 Reports to: General Manager

Length of freelance contract: 50 days over 6 months maximum; to start immediately and finish by the 29th September

Fee:             £10,000 inclusive of travel and expenses

Location:   Based at Magpie’s office in the Churchill Theatre with scope for remote & home working
