6 month freelance contract

Magpie Dance is the UK’s leading dance charity working with people with learning disabilities.  Since 1985, the company has been running workshops and dance classes for children and adults. Participants have a range of learning disabilities and are aged eight +, with no upper age limit on taking part.

Working with professional dance practitioners and musicians, through dance, participants gain significant life, social and communication skills with measurable health and wellbeing benefits. They stage regular performances, often in prestigious performing arts venues and ambitious and highly skilled dancers are supported through professional progression pathways.

Magpie Dance are looking for an exceptional Marketing Coordinator who will provide a hands on approach to boost Magpie Dance’s marketing efforts and carry forward Magpie Dance’s profile, brand and communication campaigns. The successful candidate will organise, manage and implement Magpie Dance’s communication plan and marketing strategy, be pro-active at sourcing content for engaging social media across the charity’s entire programme of work.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in everyday marketing activities with innovative ideas and a can-do attitude to keep this small, yet busy charity, current and at the forefront of marketing and social media. They will be an excellent communicator, ready to make a difference and able to work alone and manage their own time.

Reports to: General Manager

Length of freelance contract: 2 days per week for 30 weeks; to start mid-July 2018 and
finish end of January 2019

Fee:             £150 per day, inclusive of travel and expenses

Location:   Based at Magpie Dance’s office in the Churchill Theatre with scope for remote & home working
