Hidden Impact
First World War Armistice Centenary Commemorative tour

Marking 100 years since the end of the First World War, Magpie Dance present ‘Hidden Impact’ exploring the stories of people with learning disabilities, their journeys and contributions to the First World War.

Delivered in partnership with Ruskin College and self-advocacy group My Life, My Choice, with thanks to funding from Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England. This project includes an exhibition, full company show and a tour of excerpts. Please see below for tour dates.

Wednesday 14th November
Excerpts of Hidden Impact + mini exhibition

This is a free event

Some of our Magpie youth and adults will be performing at Guys Hospital as part of the Breathe Arts Health Research lunchtime performances program, further information can be found here.

Thursday 15th November

Magpie Dance are delighted to present Hidden Impact, a full Magpie Dance company show exploring the role played by people with learning disabilities during the First World War.

Delivered in partnership with Ruskin College and self-advocacy group My Life, My Choice, this flagship performance is the culmination of research never undertaken before. The research underpins a new exhibition of the findings, revealing these stories. This is the first-look opportunity of the full exhibition. An exclusive presentation and Q&A session with Lee Humber from Ruskin College will also take place at 3.30pm before the performance.
