Magpie Dance has come a long way in 35 years. Starting out as one weekly class for adults with learning disabilities, we are now leaders in the field of inclusive dance, working with hundreds of people aged 3 years upwards every year.
We are ambitious to do even more, and bring the joy of Magpie Dance to more audiences, dancers and communities over the next 35 years.
In our anniversary year, join our #35for35 campaign and help us raise our target of £35,000. Now, more than ever, we need your support. In a year of lockdowns and restrictions, many of our planned activities were cancelled or changed. We’ve even moved our sessions online! You can help secure our future both in person and online by joining in and fundraising for us.
Have fun when fundraising – do it your way and spread the word about Magpie Dance
From donating £3.50 per month, to holding a 35 hour danceathon, there are limitless ways to support Magpie Dance this year. Lockdown presents a great opportunity for sponsored silences, box set marathons or danceathons. Sponsorship can be collected online or by traditional form. It’s up to you.

Here are the fantastic fundraising efforts in celebration of our 35th Anniversary so far:
Meet our Executive Director’s nephew; 9 year old Joseph. He set himself the tough challenge of not having any sweets for 35 days over Christmas (24 Nov – 28 Dec) – he said “I really missed my sweets, and I found it extremely hard over Christmas when I couldn’t eat any of my sweetie presents. I am really proud of myself that I stuck with it, and have raised £350 which is a lot of money, for Magpie Dance. I can’t wait to show my certificate to my teacher when we are able to return to school”.
Congratulations and a huge thank you to Joseph who raised an amazing £350! His efforts will go directly into the work we deliver benefiting hundreds of people with learning disabilities each year.
