In 2022, Magpie Dance developed the Shadow Board, a platform designed to support young people and adults with learning disabilities in joining operational and strategic conversations and taking on leadership roles.
This initiative is integral, not only to our dancers’ professional development and their opportunity to interact with the board, but also to ensure that trustees receive valuable, first-hand insights from the dancers themselves. In February 2024, a review of the Shadow Board was conducted. Following this discussion, the decision was made to rename and restructure the Shadow Board into the new and improved Dancers’ Committee.
