Our dance sessions are designed exclusively for people with learning disabilities – from children aged three to adults of any age.
There’s no upper age limit, and no previous dance experience is required!
Accompanied by dynamic live music, our sessions are fun, inclusive, and tailored to suit all abilities.
Classes cost between £50 and £100 per term, with reduced fees available upon request.
Our facilitators bring extensive experience in working with children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities. Their skill and passion are key to the continued success and popularity of Magpie Dance.

Magpie Adult Choreographers sessions focus on choreographic techniques, skill development, performances, leadership and peer to peer learning. Dancers take ownership of their work and create repertoire to live music. A progression route from the Magpie Youth Technique sessions and ideal for those aged 20 years and over. This class costs £100 for a term. Reduced fees are available upon request. Magpie Adult Community classes are weekly community dance sessions for people with learning disabilities and their carers. These sessions aim to reach those most in need; providing participants with a continuous healthy activity to improve their skills, confidence, fitness and well-being. Participants may join by zoom or in person. This class costs £100 for a term. Reduced fees are available upon request. Magpie Youth sessions are designed for all individuals to shine; gaining the confidence to take ownership of creating their own dance work, as well as in a team. Dancers will take lead in choreography, performance and peer to peer learning – together with the facilitators. This class costs £100 for a term. Reduced fees are available upon request. Magpie Sensory is a dance class for children with complex needs aged 3 – 15 years. This new session is a multi-sensory dance class for children and young people with learning disabilities aged between 3 and 15 years old. This session is 45 minutes of fun and creativity with live music, as well as peer to peer learning and skill development. Our Dance Development Course comprises of study sessions for up to 10 dancers, who attend either Magpie Youth Technique or Magpie Adult Choreographers, and wish to engage in more intensive dance training. The course runs for one academic year, starting each September. It provides access to up to 14 hours of weekly dance tuition as well as opportunities to perform, choreograph and attend enrichment experiences.
