eMotion: when dance and technology collide

To mark our 35th anniversary we’re delighted to invite you to celebrate with the whole company at ‘eMotion’ a brand-new way to experience dance like never before!

On Sunday 24th May, from 4pm, join Magpie Dance participants and staff at Langley Park Centre for the Performing Arts, Beckenham, for an engaging, inspirational and exciting afternoon filled with dance and technology. Try your hand at interactive exhibitions, immersive workshops and watch live pop up performances as they happen around you.

Activities include:

  • Meccanoid, the 4ft interactive dancing robot
  • Pop up performances
  • Multi-sensory exhibitions
  • Interactive performance ‘Like’; the audience become influencers!
  • Film screenings
  • Immersive experiences including AR, VR and Sphero programming
  • Full company performance – live on stage

Magpie dancers, all of whom have learning disabilities, will be showcasing their choreography throughout the festival; including a new piece of rep made in collaboration with Protein Dance. You’ll also catch the opportunity to see work with our technology partners and guest artists Katie Dale-Everett (KDE Dance) and Amy Cartwright.

Suitable for all the family, tickets are just £8 each and can be bought online: https://buytickets.at/magpiedance/344767

We very much hope to see you there!
